North Macedonia will open its new Davis Cup season at home against South Africa in the World Group II after the draw held on 28 September 2026 in London.

The tie will be played on Macedonian soil, with the organisers eyeing either 5–6 February or 6–7 February 2027 for the two-day clash. The exact venue and match order have not been announced yet.
South Africa arrives with mixed results from the previous campaign: last year they beat Montenegro 3:2 at home but suffered a 4:0 defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This will be only the second Davis Cup meeting between the two nations. Their first encounter took place in Johannesburg in 2009 — then in World Group I — where South Africa won 5:0.
On the latest Davis Cup ranking list cited at the draw, South Africa sits 59th while North Macedonia is ranked 78th.
Preparations now shift to national team selection and organising the home tie, with the Macedonian side expected to reveal the playing squad and venue in the coming weeks.
