North Macedonia rises to 53rd in FIVB rankings after EuroVolley 2026

North Macedonia climbed to 53rd place in the FIVB world rankings after its performance at the 2026 European Championship in Sofia, the international federation's latest list shows.

The national team recorded one victory at EuroVolley 2026, defeating Israel 3:0, while suffering defeats against Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland and Portugal. The results left North Macedonia fifth in Group B, ahead of Israel.

How the ranking changed

Before the tournament, in the August ranking, North Macedonia sat 54th in the world with 83.17 points. The FIVB uses a dynamic system in which every match and each set won influence a team's points total, with good results against higher-ranked opponents carrying extra weight.

For North Macedonia the Sofia event was the team's fourth appearance at the European Championship. Although the side failed to reach the round of 16, coach Josko Milenkoski's squad finished the competition on a positive note with the win over Israel.

Poland remain top of the world rankings after successfully defending the European title; Italy and Russia are listed immediately behind them.
