North Macedonia to host U16 European Championship — Division B

North Macedonia will host the Under-16 European Championship, Division B, from 6 to 15 August, with the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia serving as the organiser of the FIBA-backed tournament that brings together many of Europe’s best cadet national teams.

FIBA’s decision to entrust the event to the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia reflects the federation’s track record in staging international youth competitions and the consistently high organisational standards it has delivered at previous European championships.

Matches will be staged in two host cities: Skopje and Gevgelija, both of which have long basketball traditions and experience organising events at the continental level.

Venues and schedule

In Skopje the games will be played at T Arena, a modern sports facility that has hosted multiple domestic and international basketball events in recent years. As the capital, Skopje will again welcome players, officials and fans from across Europe.

Gevgelija will host its share of the tournament at the NB Noel and 26 April sports halls, venues that have previously accommodated international basketball fixtures and provide suitable conditions for competition and event logistics.

By organising the U16 European Championship Division B, the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia aims to support the development and visibility of domestic basketball and to promote the country as a recognised sporting destination in Europe.
