Minor attacked with hard object by peers in Skopje’s Vlae

A minor was injured in a group attack in the Vlae neighbourhood of Skopje, during which attackers used a hard object, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said. The incident was reported to police by the boy’s mother the afternoon after the assault, and investigators have opened inquiries.

Police say the attack occurred shortly after midnight; the mother filed the report the following day. Unofficial accounts state the boy suffered serious injuries, including broken teeth, and parts of the local press reported that about 15 minors may have taken part.

Police bulletin and parental warning

According to the police bulletin: "On 18.10.2026 at 15:30, a 39-year-old woman reported to the Skopje Police Department that at around 00:30 in the Vlae area her minor son was physically attacked by a group of minors, some of whom he knew, and a hard object was used." The police say measures are being taken to clarify the case.

In a statement to media, the victim’s mother warned about an alleged group of minors who, she said, formed a circle on "Delphina" square and beat anyone who happened to pass through it. She added she could not confirm whether that group was linked to the attack on her son.

Police have reportedly summoned some youths for questioning. Authorities have not released the names or ages of the suspects beyond describing them as minors.

The Vlae assault follows another violent episode among peers in Skopje: on 31 August in the Čair area, a 13-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest and later died; two suspects in that case include a 19-year-old man and his 13-year-old brother.
