Manchester United raportohet se do ta shkarkojë Michael Carrick

Nata e Ligës së Kampionëve solli befasi: Bayern barazoi 3:3 me Viking në Norvegji, Inter u mund në shtëpi nga Club Brugge, por vëmendjen e mori Manchester United pas paraqitjes së dobët në Madrid — dhe duket se kjo ia kushtoi punën Michael Carrick.

United humbi në fushën e Atlético Madrid në një ndeshje të vështirë, por tifozët mbetën të habitur nga mënyra e lojës. Klubi ka pesë ndeshje pa fitore dhe vetëm dy fitore në nëntë ndeshje këtë sezon.

Bordi raportohet se ka vendosur për shkarkimin

Sipas raporteve nga mediat britanike, bordi i klubit ka vendosur ta shkarkojë Carrick sonte. Nuk ka njoftim zyrtar ende, por raportohet se ish-lojtari i United nuk do të qëndrojë më në stolin e ekipit të parë.

Ish-portieri legjendar Peter Schmeichel kërkoi veprim të menjëhershëm: "Michael Carrick is not the man who can take Manchester United back to the top. The board should sack him today or tomorrow. This cannot go on any longer. This is a complete disaster and a real torment."

Schmeichel shtoi prerë: "Carrick has no tactics, and on the pitch he always looks completely lost, as if he does not know at all what he should do."

Edhe Wayne Rooney shprehu pakënaqësinë e tij: "If Carrick had been Manchester United's manager at the end of the 2000s, the club would by now be playing in the fourth tier of English football. He is simply not capable of leading this club. Manchester United is too big a bite for him. He had a brilliant playing career, but his managerial career is very poor. Manchester United must sack him as soon as possible."

Disa tifozë tashmë festojnë largimin e pritshëm, duke postuar mesazhe si "it's finally over" dhe "it's finally time to see the real United again." Emra që përmenden si pasardhës të mundshëm janë Antonio Conte, Eddie Howe, Julian Nagelsmann dhe Unai Emery.
