Manchester City firm: Rodri can leave for Real, but only for €75 million

30.07.2026 23:15 — By Saso Kuzmanovski. Manchester City have put a firm price on Rodri: €75 million, and sources say the club will not lower that demand.

Real Madrid and Manchester City are currently in direct talks over the transfer of the Spanish midfielder, and the player himself is said to be keen on a return to his home country.

Real, however, has so far indicated it can offer a fee in excess of €50 million — a sum the English club considers far below its valuation.

City's stance and Madrid's position

The two clubs remain engaged in negotiations, but Manchester City’s position is clear: they want €75 million for Rodri and will hold firm. The insistence on that figure means talks could stall unless Real closes the gap.

From Madrid’s side, interest appears genuine, but their current financial proposal does not meet City’s asking price. How long both sides will continue the talks at these terms is uncertain as the transfer window progresses.

The coming days will show whether a compromise is possible or if the transfer will be postponed or abandoned altogether.
