Shkendija hit by injuries and suspensions ahead of Bregalnica Stip clash
Centre-back Jovan Manev is doubtful with a shoulder problem, while a goalkeeper shortage and Malici's suspension further limit Shkendija's options.
Shkendija face a defensive crisis ahead of their league meeting with former-player side Bregalnica Stip as centre-back Jovan Manev has been listed as injured and is unlikely to be available for today's match (August 16, 2026) at 19:00 on the Football Federation of North Macedonia pitch in Skopje.
Manev picked up shoulder pain after a heavy landing late in the Conference League game against Hibernian, when he fell directly onto his shoulder. That same type of problem affected Bojan Dimoski earlier this season, but Dimoski recovered and has since returned to coach Artim Položani's squad.
Goalkeeping and suspensions add to selection headaches
The club has also been forced to use third-choice goalkeeper Ferat Ramani in recent matches because Gambian Gaye has been sidelined for about one month; the second option Amzai is carrying a minor injury. Despite his status as the third option, Ramani produced strong saves against Hibernian and in the derby with Vardar.
Defensive problems are compounded by a three-match suspension for Malici, imposed by the FFM after an incident following the Vardar game. Shkendija has announced an appeal, but Malici will not be available for selection today.
Coach Artim Položani also remains without Marko Georgievski, who was injured during the warm-up before the Vardar match and consequently missed both the derby and the Hibernian tie. With several absences, Shkendija attempt to secure a third straight win and become the only team on a maximum nine points from three rounds.
