Marjan Stojanoski posts "Tears in Heaven" after son Petar's death
The singer shared Eric Clapton's ballad on Facebook after his four-year-old son Petar died on September 27, 2026.

Singer Marjan Stojanoski on Monday shared an emotional post on social media after the sudden death of his four-year-old son, Petar.
On his Facebook page Stojanoski posted a video featuring Eric Clapton's ballad "Tears in Heaven," a song long associated with a parent's grief over the loss of a child.

The choice struck a deep chord with followers because Clapton originally wrote the song for his own four-year-old son, Conor, who died in 1991. The lyric "Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?" has become widely linked to the unbearable sorrow of bereaved parents.
Petar Stojanoski died suddenly on September 27, 2026, at the age of four. The family announced the loss, and he was laid to rest at the Gumenje city cemetery in his native Krushevo.
Born in December 2021, Petar was welcomed into the family after the birth of his sister Veronika; later the family grew with another daughter. In recent years Marjan stepped back from the pop stage to focus on his work with the choir of the National Opera and Ballet and on family life.
Colleagues, friends and dozens of fans sent messages of condolence and support. Stojanoski—who performed early in his career alongside Toše Proeski and remains known for hits such as "Podarok," "Nenasiten" and "Srceto kje ti ukradam"—is now the focus of public sympathy as he mourns.
