Brawl halts Suzana Gavazova concert in Peshtani during Assumption holiday

A concert by singer Suzana Gavazova in the village of Peshtani near Ohrid was interrupted during the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary after a physical altercation broke out among attendees.

Witnesses report that the fight began shortly after the performance started and was followed by an unexpected power outage that plunged the venue into complete darkness.

Police intervention

Police officers who responded to the scene used electric lamps to illuminate the area while they intervened and restored order. Organizers halted the event and the performance was not resumed.

Those present said they were surprised by the timing of the blackout and the scuffle; authorities have not provided an official explanation yet on whether the power failure was connected to the fight.

The incident was described as unusual for Gavazova's shows, which this summer have been marked by lively crowds, singing along and generous tipping. Recordings from her recent appearances at restaurants and festivals show guests laughing and joining in.

Gavazova is known for often approaching individual guests and singing "to the ear," creating memorable moments whether she performs in a club, a kafana or on a festival stage.
