Matej Gaštarov named in SuperLiga team of the round
Red Star Belgrade won 0:3 at Radnicki and Gaštarov — a regular starter under Rijera — made the league’s XI.
Matej Gaštarov, the Macedonian international, was selected in the SuperLiga of Serbia's team of the round after another strong appearance for Red Star Belgrade.
Red Star won 0:3 away at Radnicki, and Gaštarov kept his place in the starting eleven — a regular pattern since Rijera became coach of the club.
Coach Rijera's concerns over playing time
Before the match Rijera publicly addressed the issue of minutes for his players and singled out Gaštarov, arguing that it may be premature to saddle the 19‑year‑old with so many games, including those for the North Macedonia national team.
On the field, however, Gaštarov showed no sign of exhaustion and delivered another solid performance in Red Star colours, earning recognition in the league’s best XI for the round.
Gaštarov remains a regular in the national setup while continuing to build his club career in Belgrade.
