Man (60) found dead at village football stadium in Raven; chainsaw found nearby
A.A. (60) was discovered dead on 22 September at the village stadium; responders also reported a chainsaw at the scene and an injured police officer.
Yesterday at 23:15 the Gostivar Police Station received a report from J.A. (45) from Raven that her husband, A.A. (60), left for work in Gostivar at about 07:00 but did not return and was not answering his phone.
At 00:20 on 22 September A.A. was found dead at the village football stadium. A chainsaw was discovered in his immediate vicinity.
The death was certified by a doctor from the Emergency Center in Gostivar. The scene was then inspected by a public prosecutor, a forensic doctor, an investigative team from the Gostivar Police Station and a team from the Gostivar Territorial Firefighting Unit.
Investigation and injured officer
During official actions at approximately 01:50 a police officer fell into an open, unmarked concrete manhole about 1.5 metres deep. The officer sustained serious bodily injuries.
The injuries were confirmed at the Medical Center in Gostivar. The case remains under investigation and authorities have not released further details about the circumstances of the man’s death.
