Man dumps sacks of garbage into Radika River from van on Kosovrasti bridge

A video posted on social networks shows a man stopping a van on a bridge over the Radika River, removing sacks and boxes from the vehicle and throwing them into the water.
The footage, published on September 9, 2026 at 17:28 by the Debar Sport Fishing Society "Trofta" (Pastrmka), captures the man unloading several bags and cartons from a van on the bridge near a quarry in Kosovrasti and then leaving the scene.
Local fishing group calls the act shameful
In its post the association condemned the behaviour in strong terms. "Shameful! This is the Radika River — one of the cleanest and most beautiful rivers in Macedonia. Throwing garbage into the river is not 'no big deal' — it is shame and disrespect for nature, the fish and our future. Radika is not a place for garbage," the post reads.
Video evidence circulated quickly online and prompted criticism from residents and environmental-minded groups in the area. The footage identifies the location as the bridge by the quarry in Kosovrasti.
Authorities have not yet been named in the social post; the footage and the society's statement are the primary public record of the incident so far.
