Kylian Mbappé may leave Real Madrid after 2027 if club fails to meet his demands

On 10 October 2026 French forward Kylian Mbappé reportedly warned Real Madrid he could leave the club after next year if his sporting demands are not met, according to the French journalist Daniel Riolo.

Mbappé arrived at Real with the expectation of joining a project built to challenge for the game’s biggest prizes. Now, sources say he is evaluating whether the current squad and management are moving fast enough toward sustained success, particularly in the UEFA Champions League.

Team balance, trophies and a possible exit

Real’s long-term plan has focused on assembling top talent around a core capable of dominating in Europe. Insiders point out that assembling stars alone does not guarantee results; Mbappé is said to be judging whether the club is taking the concrete steps required to turn individual quality into collective trophies.

Reports add that the former Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain forward told club leaders he could leave next summer if he concludes the team is not on the path to major achievements such as winning the Champions League. At the same time, media coverage stresses these are assessments and not an announced, definitive decision by the player.

Since joining Real Madrid Mbappé has played 111 matches, scoring 94 goals and providing 14 assists. This season he has eight goals in eight appearances and two assists.

A departure of Mbappé would represent a significant setback for Real Madrid, which invested heavily to bring him in and build a new competitive era around his presence. The coming months and results on the pitch will determine whether the Santiago Bernabéu project aligns with his ambitions or opens the door to one of European football’s biggest transfers after 2027.
