Mickoski: I will spend my vacation in Belgium — four days in Bruges and four in Brussels
Mickoski will spend one week in Belgium with his family — four days in Bruges and four days in Brussels; on May 4 he previously urged citizens to vacation in Macedonia after the introduction of the EES.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said that he will spend his annual vacation in Belgium, in the company of his family, and will divide the schedule between Bruges and Brussels.
"Essentially I will not have a classic vacation, it will be a kind of excursion. With my family I will be one week in Belgium, four days in Bruges and four days in Brussels," Mickoski said, answering where he will spend the summer vacation in response to a journalist's question during his visit to the hospital in Bitola.

Context and previous statements
On May 4 Mickoski urged Macedonian citizens to spend their summer vacations in Macedonia after the European Union introduced a digital passenger registration for travelers from countries that are not members of the Schengen area. He made the statement at the St. Spas church in Skopje, after the memorial service on the occasion of the 123rd anniversary of the death of Goce Delchev.
"I would not comment too much at all on that, on that way of behaving. We have certain discussions within the European Union on how that could be overcome, but if they represent a problem for summer vacations, we have beautiful lakes, we have beautiful mountains, we have beautiful places in Macedonia. I call on Macedonian citizens to spend their summer vacations on Macedonian mountains and lakes, in Macedonian villages, because we have a beautiful country and we ourselves should take care of it because we do not have a second reserve," Mickoski said on May 4 at the St. Spas church in Skopje, after the memorial service for the 123rd anniversary of Goce Delchev's death.
Belgium is part of the Schengen area and since April 10 the new Entry-Exit (EES) digital system for registering passengers from third countries has been applied at its border crossings. Last year Mickoski was on vacation from August 4 to 10 in Croatia; he flew from Skopje to Split on a commercial flight, and returned on the government plane because he missed his Croatia Airlines flight.
