Miki Sekulovski finds peace at St. John Bigorski Monastery

Singer Miki Sekulovski shared on Instagram that he recently visited one of North Macedonia’s oldest and most revered religious sites, finding a moment of calm among its centuries-old walls.

The site is the St. John Bigorski Monastery, a complex dedicated to St. John the Baptist that dates back to the 11th century and is described as more than 1,000 years old. The sanctuary is widely regarded as an important cultural and spiritual landmark in the country.

Quiet retreat and a public life

Sekulovski posted a photograph from the monastery on his Instagram account, a gesture that underscored how many public figures from the region turn to Bigorski for spiritual respite.

Originally noticed in North Macedonia after his appearance on the show Idol, Sekulovski later returned to the spotlight by competing in Zvezdite na Grand, where he finished in a high second place. That success helped him build a steady career in the years that followed.

The singer, who comes from Veles, has become one of the country’s sought-after performers. He has also performed as a backing vocalist for Ceca Ražnatović at several concerts across the Balkans.

Fans and followers on social media have followed his trajectory from a talented newcomer on Idol to an established artist who takes moments like this visit to Bigorski to recharge.
