AC Milan lowers asking price for Rafael Leão to €40–45m
AC Milan are willing to sell Rafael Leão for €40–45m after lowering their previous valuation of up to €60m; Galatasaray’s top bid remains €35m.
Date: August 16, 2026 — AC Milan has significantly reduced its asking price for winger Rafael Leão as the club moves closer to the possibility of selling the Portuguese forward this summer.
The Rossoneri are now prepared to accept a transfer fee in the region of €40–45 million, a notable drop from earlier valuations that climbed to as much as €60 million. The cut in the price tag increases the chances of a deal before the transfer window closes.
Why Milan adjusted the valuation
Club officials say the decision to lower the fee stems from footballing reasons: Leão reportedly does not fit into the plans of coach Ruben Amorim, so Milan judged that this summer is the right moment for separation. That calculation has driven the club to seek quicker agreement with potential buyers.
Galatasaray remains one of the parties interested, but their highest offer so far has reached only €35 million. Observers note a gap between the Turkish side's proposal and Milan's updated asking price.
According to reports, Leão himself has cooled on a move to Turkey and would prefer a transfer to the Premier League if an opportunity arises. Milan, however, is aware it cannot wait indefinitely: the club needs funds to complete other signings and might retain the player at San Siro if no suitable proposal appears.
