Vardar coach Miodrag Božović backs Serbia's Student List

Vardar coach Miodrag Božović has publicly expressed support for Serbia's Student List ahead of this weekend's parliamentary vote, sharing a photograph on social media with fellow supporter Slavoljub Muslin. The post came as the campaign entered its final hours before the election silence that takes effect at midnight on the eve of Sunday’s vote.

Božović's backing echoes past gestures

Božović, a Montenegrin who previously coached Red Star Belgrade and won titles with that club, has on several occasions over the past two years openly backed student activists in Serbia. In his recent post he appeared alongside Muslin and included the chant that has become associated with the student campaign, "I want three kisses".

The coach’s public stance has been noted in Serbia partly because his opinions carry weight there, and also because his support has been accompanied by criticism of President Aleksandar Vučić.

Support from prominent sports figures has been visible during the lead-up to the vote, and Božović’s message is the latest example of athletes and coaches taking a clear position in the political debate.

The post was shared on October 22, 2026 at 11:50. With the official pre-election silence beginning at midnight, public endorsements were restricted from that moment as Serbia moved into the final phase before Sunday’s elections.
