A Bosnian community member in Michigan died after a dispute at a weekend market escalated and he was run over by a van, authorities say. The victim, Mirsad Chehic, collapsed from severe injuries and later died in hospital.

Argument over a trimmer refund ended in deadly collision

The incident took place at the County Line Trade Center in Warren, where Chehic had sold goods every weekend for years. According to information from the scene, a verbal dispute broke out between Chehic and two buyers about returning money for a grass trimmer.

Witnesses said the argument quickly turned violent when the buyers drove a van into Chehic, striking him in front of his brother, who was present at the market. Emergency medical help was called immediately, but Chehic later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Police in Warren detained two people in connection with the incident. Investigators are working to determine the full sequence of events and the criminal charges the suspects may face.
