Young woman stabs 81-year-old cyclist to death in Formiga
Attack in Formiga was recorded by street cameras; suspect detained the next day and motive remains unknown.
A 24-year-old woman stabbed an 81-year-old man to death while he was riding a bicycle in the Brazilian town of Formiga, police say. The attack happened on Monday and was captured on nearby street cameras.
The footage shows the woman walking along the road; as the elderly cyclist passed, she took a knife from her bag and plunged it into his body without any apparent provocation. The victim is seen reeling in shock in the video.

The recording was shared online and accompanied in some posts by the caption: "BRASIL | MUJER ASESINÓ A ANCIANO POR DIVERSIÓN". One widely circulated post with the clip was published by the X account XAlertNow on August 12, 2026.
The wounded man was transported to a nearby hospital, but his injury proved fatal. Local police opened an investigation immediately after the incident.
Authorities arrested the 24-year-old suspect the following day. Investigators have not publicly disclosed a motive for the killing.
