Macedonian junior team wins 3 gold and 2 bronze at WAKO World Juniors
Macedonian juniors returned from Lido di Jesolo with 3 gold and 2 bronze medals and were received at the Macedonian Olympic Committee.
On 29 September 2026 the Macedonian junior kickboxing team returned from the WAKO World Junior Championships in Lido di Jesolo, Italy, having secured an impressive haul: 3 gold and 2 bronze medals in a field of more than 2,800 competitors from 74 countries.
Gold medals:
- Tomi Andonov (K1 / YJ M +81 kg)
- Kalin Baboski (LK / OJ M -63.5 kg)
- Grigor Nikolov (LK / YJ M -67 kg)
Bronze medals:
- Dragica Gligorova (KL / OC F +65 kg)
- Petar Lozanovski (LK / YJ M -60 kg)
Reception in Skopje
After their return from Italy the medalists and the rest of the national squad were greeted at a formal reception held at the Macedonian Olympic Committee in Skopje. They were welcomed by Daniel Dimevski, president of the Macedonian Olympic Committee, and Petar Spasenovski, head of the sport sector.
The Committee extended its congratulations to the athletes, the coaching staff and the Kickboxing Muay Thai Federation of North Macedonia, led by its president Dejan Mitrovski – Urko. The federation and the national team were praised as ambassadors of the country in international sport.
“Bravo, champions!” the Macedonian Olympic Committee said in its message of praise.
