Many movements on the ATP list — Novak Djokovic holds fifth place despite the Cincinnati setback

ATP released its updated world rankings on Monday, August 24, 2026, and the list shows a number of shifts ahead of the US Open — yet Novak Djokovic remains in fifth place despite an early exit in Cincinnati.

Djokovic picked up 10 points in the new tally and now sits on 3,770 points, 60 more than Flavio Cobolli. The Italian was the biggest mover on the board, jumping four places to sixth — the highest position of his career.

Jannik Sinner, who withdrew from the US Open, still leads the standings with 12,800 points. Sascha Zverev moved up to second with 7,790 points, swapping places with Carlos Alcaraz, who now has 7,160 points.

Felix remains fourth in the rankings, Alex de Minaur is seventh, Daniil Medvedev eighth. Ben Shelton dropped three places to ninth, while Taylor Fritz completes the ATP top 10.

The US Open is scheduled to begin on Sunday, a tournament that could trigger further changes at the top as players arrive in New York and start to defend or chase points.
