Ministry denies state scholarship for Antonio Milososki’s son

The Ministry of Education and Science has denied that it awarded a state scholarship to the son of MP Antonio Milososki for studies at a university in Madrid, Minister Vesna Janevska said on Friday.

Janevska made the statement while answering reporters’ questions during the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for a new sports hall at Primary School "Bratstvo". She said the ministry has not issued a scholarship to anyone named Milososki for study abroad under its scholarship programmes.

Janevska emphasised that she personally signs scholarships intended for students admitted to Shanghai-ranked universities, but that the surname Milososki does not appear among the beneficiaries. She rejected the claims circulating on social networks as false and an abuse of the MP’s name.

Quoting Janevska: "I do not know what is being written on social networks. I am very sorry to say that on our social networks there are many fake news. I personally sign the scholarships for the Shanghai universities, the best ones. The name Milososki, that is the surname Milososki, is not signed. Therefore I consider that this is an absolutely false news and an abuse of the name of the MP. So, the Ministry of Education and Science did not award a scholarship to the son of Antonio Milososki."

The minister’s denial responds to online rumours that the MP’s son had received a state-funded scholarship to pursue studies in Madrid; the ministry’s statement makes clear no such award was recorded under that surname.
