Ministry of Internal Affairs receives 33 Piaggio police motorcycles and full protective gear

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) will receive 33 new police motorcycles and a full set of protective clothing for Traffic Police officers, part of a procurement financed by the Republican Council for Road Traffic Safety (RSBSP).

Procurement, model and purpose

The motorcycles are Piaggio Beverly 310 HPE models and the protective equipment package includes helmets, jackets, trousers, boots and both summer and winter gloves. The total value of the purchase provided by the RSBSP for the needs of the MIA is 16,845,561 denars and is intended to increase mobility, improve traffic regulation and create better working conditions for police officers.

Minister Panche Toshkovski said the delivery is more than new vehicles and uniforms: it strengthens the Traffic Police's operational capacity and represents "another step toward safer roads." He described the purchase as an example of effective inter-institutional cooperation that yields concrete projects and results citizens will feel.

Toshkovski added that the Traffic Police modernisation is part of the MIA's broader approach to enhancing road safety, in which the "Safe City" system occupies an important place.

He also stressed the human dimension of the investment: "If with all these measures, with the new equipment, with 'Safe City' and with our daily work we manage to save even one human life, then every denar and every effort invested was worth it. That is the essence of our work and the greatest motivation to continue."

Goran Angelovski, president of the RSBSP, said the new equipment purchase falls within routine modernisation activities aimed at increasing road safety on the country's roads.
