Ministry of Internal Affairs orders probe after reports two men beaten by police
The Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards will examine the incident from 07.10.2026 and determine any responsibility.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has ordered an internal probe after a political party reported that two men were allegedly beaten by police in Skopje.
Investigation launched
According to a ministry statement, the Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards has been tasked to examine the claims. The move follows media reports that on 07.10.2026, in the Skopje area, two individuals were physically assaulted by police officers while they were being handled, and that their vehicle was damaged.
— "After media reports that on 07.10.2026, in the Skopje area, two persons were physically attacked by police officers during their actions, and according to their claims their car was damaged, the minister of internal affairs ordered the Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards to investigate the case. The Department is taking measures and activities to fully establish the factual situation and the circumstances of the incident, as well as to determine any responsibility of the involved police officers," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The ministry added that once the factual situation is established, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with legal provisions.
Authorities have not published further details about the alleged incident or named any officers. The investigation by the ministry's internal department is expected to clarify the sequence of events and whether disciplinary or criminal responsibility applies.
