MIA: 20,976 payment orders issued in July, majority for speeding and parking
The Ministry of Internal Affairs says 4,241 violations were for speed and 4,694 for illegal parking; 496 people were detained during July traffic controls.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a total of 20,976 payment orders were issued during traffic checks across the country in July.

Of the recorded violations, 4,241 were for exceeding the allowed speed and 4,694 related to improper parking. The ministry's summary includes offences detected during routine and targeted controls carried out nationwide.
Police detained 496 people on charges related to reckless driving. Among those detained, 81 were driving under the influence of alcohol and 373 were driving without a licence; the remainder were held for reasons such as driving while banned, extreme speeding or driving in a prohibited direction.
In addition, authorities confiscated 332 vehicles under provisions of the Criminal Code.
Other enforcement figures released by the ministry show that 2,073 motorcyclists were fined for not wearing protective helmets, 1,829 drivers and passengers were sanctioned for not using seat belts, and 430 drivers were recorded driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that intensified traffic controls will continue in the coming period and called on all road users to respect traffic rules to improve safety on the roads.
