MŽ Transport: Skopje city train briefly halted by storm on 2 September, now operating
MŽ Transport says the temporary halt on 2 September 2026 was for safety reasons and that the city train resumed service and runs today on schedule.

MŽ Transport AD–Skopje reported that the Skopje city train was briefly suspended on 2 September 2026 after a severe storm affected the capital and surrounding region, but services have since resumed and are operating today according to the published timetable.
"We inform you that on 02.09.2026, due to the severe storm that hit Skopje and the Skopje region, rail traffic was temporarily suspended for safety reasons. We inform you that rail traffic was immediately put back into operation; specifically, the city train resumed operating according to the scheduled timetable," the company statement said.
The operator said the interruption was a precautionary measure taken because of weather conditions and that the city train returned to service without delay once safety checks were completed.
Current service
According to MŽ Transport, today's traffic is running normally and passengers can expect trains to operate in line with the current timetable.
The company published the information following the storm on 2 September 2026 and confirmed services on 3 September 2026.
