Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri under pressure — three candidates linked
Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly weighing an early dismissal as Napoli struggle in Serie A and the Champions League.

Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri is facing mounting pressure after a poor start to the 2026–27 season, with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis reportedly weighing the option of an early dismissal.
Upcoming fixtures seen as decisive
Allegri, who replaced Antonio Conte this summer, has been unable to stabilise results. Napoli have already lost three of their opening domestic league matches and sit without points after the first two group games in the Champions League. A home defeat to bottom-placed Venezia intensified concern inside the club, and reports say relations between Allegri and several players have worsened.
The coach publicly urged patience with the squad currently available to him, but the mood in Naples remains tense. The next two matches are widely viewed as critical for Allegri's future: a Champions League tie against Bodo/Glimt followed by a Serie A clash with Roma.
If president Aurelio De Laurentiis decides the situation cannot be turned around, the club is already considering replacements. Names mentioned as potential successors include Tiago Motta and Igor Tudor, while Vincenzo Montella is also in the mix after leaving his role with the Turkey national team.
With the window for immediate improvement closing, Napoli’s hierarchy must decide quickly whether to back Allegri through a difficult start or opt for a coaching change.
