Najchevska criticises appointment of Arben Fetai as special envoy to the EU
Professor Mirajna Najchevska called the appointment of former deputy prime minister Arben Fetai a reward for law‑breaking and criticised lack of clarity over his pay during a two‑month absence.
Professor Mirajna Najchevska this morning via social networks criticized the appointment of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Fetai as a special envoy to the European Union.
Strong reaction
In the Facebook post Najchevska wrote: "Break the law, freeload on the state, trample the citizens' common sense and they'll appoint you as a special envoy to the EU."
She went on to add other direct jabs: "And all of you who enable these illiterate cretins to run the country." and "Anyone with two grams of brain will flee this den of charlatans and pickpockets." At the end she called on the public and political actors to resolve matters with an expert government: "Give us, people, a professional rescue government so we become a state and not a godforsaken backwater."
As the impetus for her reaction Najchevska cites the fact that Fetai, according to reports, had not been coming to work at the Government for two months, yet it is unclear whether he received full pay during that period. Fetai submitted his resignation from the post of Deputy Prime Minister on June 1.
This reaction again opens the debate around the criteria for appointing high officials and transparency in the public administration, especially amid strong public sensitivity to alleged nepotism and impunity.
At the time of publication there is no response from the Government or from Fetai related to the criticisms quoted in Najchevska's post.
