Hottest in Skopje, Veles and Demir Kapija at 39 degrees
Sunny and very warm today; daytime highs 33–39°C and a southern air mass could push some areas above 40°C later in the week.
Sunny and warm weather will persist through the rest of today with only small, local cloudiness. Winds will be weak to moderate: in the western parts predominantly from the northeast, while in the eastern parts winds will be variable.
The maximum temperature will range between 33 and 39 degrees Celsius. In Skopje the forecast calls for sunny and warm conditions with a weak to moderate variable wind and a high of 39 degrees.
Regional highs and overnight lows
The hottest places today are expected to be Skopje, Veles and Demir Kapija with 39 degrees; Gevgelija, Shtip and Strumica will reach 38 degrees, while Tetovo and Bitola should see around 36 degrees.
This morning the coldest reading was in Berovo at 9 degrees, and there the daytime temperature will climb to 31 degrees.
Under the influence of a warm air mass from the south, conditions during the days of the extended weekend and through the rest of next week will be sunny and very hot with little to moderate local cloudiness. Daytime temperatures will be above 33 degrees Celsius everywhere, and in some places they will exceed 40 degrees.
High temperatures are expected to remain into the night hours as well.
