Attack on Riyadh airport kills at least 12, injures over 300
Attack on King Khalid International Airport left at least 12 dead and hundreds wounded; operations at the airport were suspended.

At least 12 people have been killed and more than 300 wounded in an attack on the international airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, authorities said. The victims included citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, the United States, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt, the Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation confirmed.
Airport operations halted
Operations at King Khalid International Airport have been suspended following the strike. Emergency services rushed to the scene as hospitals in the capital treated hundreds of injured passengers and staff.
The Saudi-led military coalition announced it would respond to the attack, describing it as a "war crime" and blaming Yemeni Houthi forces for the assault. The Houthi movement did not immediately comment on the incident.
Saudi authorities called the incident the deadliest attack in the kingdom since May 2015. Earlier this year the Houthis had claimed responsibility for previous strikes on the same airport that killed three people and damaged an aircraft.
Investigations are underway and security measures at the airport and across Riyadh have been tightened as officials review how the attackers struck a major civilian facility in the capital.
