Pitch invasion: Shamrock fan enters field and pushes Dundalk players after Horgan penalty
Фанатик влета на терен по пеналот на Дандалк; судир со гостинските фудбалери, мечот заврши 3:2 за Шамрок Роверс.

A fan ran onto the pitch during the Premier Division match between Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk on August 8, 2026, and made physical contact with visiting players after a Dundalk penalty, video footage shows.
The incident took place in the middle of the first half, shortly after Shamrock had levelled the score at 2–2. Dundalk were awarded a spot kick and Horgan converted from the penalty spot; he celebrated the goal facing the stands where the home supporters were seated.
Players and stewards intervene
Following the celebration, a home supporter jumped over the barrier and entered the field. The intruder approached several Dundalk players and there was physical contact: the fan pushed a number of visiting footballers before stewards reached the scene and removed him from the pitch.
Despite the disorderly scenes, play resumed and the match was completed. Shamrock Rovers went on to win the game 3–2.
The episode was shared on social media; one post summarised the moment as: "In the Premier Division of Ireland a Shamrock Rovers fan jumped onto the pitch to assault Dundalk players after they scored a penalty and celebrated in front of the Shamrock Rovers supporters." — GRADA B pro (@GradaBpro) August 8, 2026.
