Real Madrid fans overwhelmingly favour the Champions League over La Liga
A small street poll of supporters around the Santiago Bernabéu found 16 of 17 fans would prioritise the Champions League over La Liga.

Spanish-language media asked Real Madrid supporters outside the Santiago Bernabéu a simple question ahead of the new season: if forced to choose, would you prefer a La Liga title or the Champions League? The quick street poll, published on August 28, 2026, captured the views of a small group of fans but produced a clear result.
Reporters surveyed 17 supporters in total. Sixteen of them, almost unanimously and without hesitation, said they would pick the Champions League trophy as the priority for the coming campaign.
Only one respondent declined to choose between the two competitions and instead insisted on aiming for both, saying: "I choose both La Liga and the Champions League. Real Madrid must not pick trophies — we have to go for everything!"
Fans' priorities and what it means
The responses underline that, for a majority of the club's followers, success in Europe's elite competition remains the chief benchmark for a successful season. That preference often shapes expectations for team selection and transfer ambitions as the campaign unfolds.
It is important to note the limitations: this was an informal street survey of only 17 people conducted near the club's stadium, so it does not represent the full spectrum of Real Madrid's global fan base. Still, the near-unanimity among those questioned highlights how strongly the Champions League title resonates with many supporters.
