Valencia fans protest after 0–5 loss, call players 'paid players'

Thousands of Valencia supporters staged a loud protest after their team’s heavy 0–5 defeat to Barcelona in the fourth round of La Liga. Fans gathered outside the Mestalla and directed sharp criticism at both the players and the club leadership.
At the centre of the anger was the chant calling players “paid players” and demands for the departure of the club president Kijat Lim and owner Peter Lim.
The protest and empty seats
Some groups of ultras made their point by leaving sections of the stadium empty at kickoff, and there were whistles aimed at the squad and coach Carlos Corberán both before the match and after the final whistle. Video shared on social platforms showed supporters refusing to enter the stadium until the game had already started.
Valencia now have just one point and one goal after four rounds, and following their third consecutive defeat find themselves at the bottom of the table.
The protest highlighted growing impatience among the fanbase with the sporting results and the club’s hierarchy, intensifying pressure on the management to respond to supporters’ demands.
