National Bank launches tender for private health insurance for staff

The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia (NBRM) has opened an open procurement procedure to secure a private health insurance package for its staff.

Scope and insured group

The tender covers private health insurance for all employees and four named persons at the Bank, with a stated policy limit of 20.000.00 euros per insured. In total, the procurement applies to 484 insured persons.

The announced policy is set to include a broad range of services:

• Outpatient treatment across all specialist-consultative fields
• Inpatient treatment across all specialist-consultative fields
• Surgical procedures
• Dental care
• Ophthalmology
• Medications
• Pregnancy and childbirth
• Other coverage

Commenting on the tender, the National Bank said: "The National Bank, as an employer, provides collective insurance for its employees, in accordance with the law and the collective agreement. Pursuant to the provisions of the collective agreement, the coverage applies to all employees of the National Bank and does not replace mandatory health insurance – all employees continue to regularly pay contributions for mandatory health insurance, in accordance with the law. The procurement relates to 12 months, with an estimated value determined based on current market conditions. The full tender documentation is publicly available on the Electronic System for Public Procurement." – the National Bank said.

The deadline to submit bids is 14 August 2026. The contract being procured covers 12 months. The Bank also notes that full tender documentation is available on the Electronic System for Public Procurement.

Previously, the Bank had held a contract for private health insurance with Makedonija Osiguruvanje – Vienna Insurance Group. That earlier agreement also provided private health services intended to ensure medical care for the Bank's employees.
