Illegal sunshades and loungers cleared from three Halkidiki beaches
Authorities in Polygyros and Kassandra removed illegally fixed sunshades and loungers from three Halkidiki beaches; over 170 items taken from Kalives.

Local authorities in Halkidiki carried out coordinated operations to remove illegally placed sunshades, loungers and other beach equipment on three beaches, after complaints and prior notices. The actions took place in Pefkochori and Flegra on the Kassandra peninsula’s first leg, and in Kalives, between the first and second legs, yesterday and today.
Municipal teams cleared public space and warned they will continue interventions
Polygyros municipality reported that in Kalives more than 170 umbrellas and other beach items that had been permanently placed on public land were removed. Officials said the equipment occupied parts of the shoreline and that the municipality will keep intervening as the tourist season in Halkidiki continues.
Local authorities said, "The aim is for beaches to remain free and accessible to everyone."
During the operation Deputy Mayor Vasilis Fardoianis stressed the principle of open access: "Our intention is to ensure open access to the beach for all citizens, not just the privileged — namely those who have a house by the sea, but for everyone."
Parallellly, Kassandra municipality carried out two removal actions on the first leg of Kassandra, the first in Flegra yesterday and the second today in Pefkochori. The interventions followed reports filed with the Kassandra police station, the responsible municipal service and the Greek Ministry of Tourism, and municipal officials say prior warnings were issued to remove the equipment.
Municipalities said the measures aim to prevent privatization of public beaches and to keep the coastline accessible to residents and visitors alike.
