Uncomfortable question for Aleksandar Vučić in Nova Varoš: "You promised me a job if I gathered enough votes"
During a visit on August 10, 2026 a woman told the president she had been promised work in 2020 in exchange for votes but never received the job.
During a public visit to Nova Varoš on August 10, 2026, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić was interrupted by an unexpected question from a woman in the audience who said she had been promised a job in return for gathering votes at the 2020 elections but never received the position.
The woman addressed Vučić as well as Krsto Janjušević, the acting director of Srbijašumi, and Branko Bjelić, the president of the municipality of Nova Varoš, who were standing beside the president.

On camera she said that in 2020 she had been promised employment if she collected a certain number of votes, but that the job never materialised. She added that Bjelić is her neighbour and that they stopped speaking after the promise was made. She also said she has evidence that she worked to collect votes.
At one point the woman asked directly: "I want to know why I didn't get that job, I was promised I would." Vučić initially replied that no one would remove her and that everyone has the right to say what they want, but the exchange continued and he asked her, "is that enough now?"
Vučić then told her that the matter she had with Janjušević and Bjelić should be resolved with those two officials and asked why she had not gone to the municipal offices. The woman said she had already been to the municipality, and the discussion on that topic ended.
