Netanyahu: "We must finish the mission"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told supporters at a Likud rally in Tel Aviv that Israel has thwarted the threat of an Iranian nuclear weapon and must press on with its military objectives.

Netanyahu frames campaign around security and continued operations

Speaking before a crowd of supporters, Netanyahu said the country must continue operations against Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas. He urged his followers to sustain the effort as he prepares for parliamentary elections on 27 October.

At the rally Netanyahu appealed directly to party activists and voters, presenting the campaign as one centred on national security and his decades-long leadership. His message came amid a prolonged security and political crisis following Hamas's attack on 7 October 2023 and the ensuing war.

The speech drew strong applause from the audience in Tel Aviv, where Netanyahu sought to link his leadership record to Israel's security achievements and to argue for the continuation of the current course.

“We must finish the mission,” Netanyahu said, using the rally to underscore his promise to continue the military and political effort he says is necessary to protect the country.

His campaign has emphasized security issues since the 7 October 2023 attack; the Tel Aviv event underlined that theme as the country heads toward the 27 October parliamentary vote.
