Bournemouth surprised the home side by taking a 0-2 lead inside 35 minutes, through a goal from Tavernier and an own goal credited to Tiao.
Newcastle fight back but late equaliser keeps them level
Newcastle pulled one back quickly when Barnes struck a spectacular goal in the 37th minute, restoring hope for the home supporters.
The game remained finely balanced until the closing stages. In the 88th minute Ramsey produced a measured finish to make it 2-2 and spared Newcastle the embarrassment of defeat.
After three rounds of the Premier League, Newcastle have five points while Bournemouth have picked up two from the same number of matches.
