Night closure on Thessaloniki ring road: westbound lane to Bogorodica (Evzoni) shut 23:00–05:00
Greek police warn of a full traffic stop tonight on the westbound ring road toward the Bogorodica (Evzoni) border; diversions expected.

Greek police have issued an urgent notice that a section of the Thessaloniki ring road will be closed tonight, affecting the westbound lane that leads toward the city’s western districts, the Bogorodica (Evzoni) border crossing and North Macedonia.
Full stop from 23:00 to 05:00 — motorists will be diverted
The closure is scheduled for tonight (Wednesday, August 19) for the period from 23:00 to 05:00. During those six hours, traffic officers will reroute vehicles onto secondary and local urban streets, which is likely to cause delays and increased congestion.
The carriageway in the opposite direction — the eastbound side leading toward eastern Thessaloniki and the Halkidiki peninsulas — will remain fully open to traffic.
Authorities published the advisory in the "Greek Info" group and urged drivers to follow temporary traffic signs and directions from police while the diversion is in effect.
Passengers from North Macedonia who are returning from Greece tonight are advised to plan their routes in advance, allow extra travel time and be prepared for possible delays.
