Novak Djokovic posts icon for Saint Petka and shows parts of his Srem estate
Djokovic posted an icon for Saint Parascheva on Instagram; his property in Srem now includes 2,000 lavender plants and extensive lakeside amenities.

Novak Djokovic marked the Orthodox feast of Parascheva — locally known as Saint Petka — by posting an icon on his Instagram account and extending greetings to Orthodox believers.
Saint Parascheva is traditionally revered as a protector of women, mothers, children, the sick and those facing serious life challenges.
Lavender, a mosquito‑repellent addition to the Srem property
While Djokovic continues to make headlines for his sporting achievements, attention has also focused on his private estate in the Serbian part of Srem, near Lake Pavlovačko. The tennis star recently had the grounds professionally landscaped and planted 2,000 lavender roots along the path that runs from the main gate to the house.
The choice of lavender was both aesthetic and practical: besides its appearance and scent, lavender is said to repel mosquitoes and thus helps the Djokovic family enjoy summer days outdoors without insects. The premium‑class seedlings alone cost more than 6,000 euros.
The estate covers several hectares and features a villa of approximately 1,200 square meters, a private pier on the lake, a hand‑built stone cave with a waterfall and a spacious swimming pool with a slide. The original idea for the green oasis was proposed by his father, Srđan Djokovic, who—according to locals—frequently visits to supervise finishing touches, while Novak uses occasional free moments to relax there with his wife and children.
