Novak Djokovic says he hopes to finish his career after Los Angeles 2028
In an interview with Catalan Sport he said he hopes to compete at Los Angeles 2028 and retire carrying the Serbian flag, while cutting his tournament schedule to spend more time with family.

Novak Djokovic told Catalan Sport that he hopes to reach the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and finish his playing career carrying the Serbian flag, while deliberately cutting the number of tournaments he enters to spend more time with his family.
The holder of a record 24 Grand Slam titles and 40 Masters crowns described his Paris 2024 Olympic gold as the crowning achievement of his career and said his future will depend on his body's reaction and other circumstances.
Asked whether competing at the next Olympics in Los Angeles 2028 remains a goal or is more of a dream, Djokovic answered:
"I think it's both. A dream and a goal, but also a wish. Many times in recent years I have said that I would like to reach the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028. I think I can achieve that. We'll see. It will depend on how my body reacts and on many other circumstances. Today, I don't play or compete in nearly as many tournaments as I did in the last twenty years. And I decided to do that because I want to spend more time with my family and truly dedicate myself to the different roles I have in life, as a husband, father, son or brother, while developing other things that interest me.
Of course, tennis is still at the centre of my professional life, but I want to find balance and that is why I changed my schedule. Still, I hope that I will be able to reach the next Olympic Games and finish my career with the Serbian flag on my shoulders." — Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic's remarks underline a deliberate change in his calendar: fewer events, selective scheduling and a clearer focus on family and off-court projects. Whether that path will extend to Los Angeles 2028, and mark the final chapter of his playing career, remains contingent on his physical condition and other factors he mentioned.
