NVIDIA includes Orion Telekom in its European AI network

American chipmaker NVIDIA has added Serbia’s Orion Telekom to a list of European telecommunications operators building artificial intelligence infrastructure with its technology, a development announced on 23 October 2026 at 11:30.

According to information from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Orion Telekom intends to expand its computing capacity with an advanced system based on NVIDIA technology. The new installation is planned for the State Data Center of Serbia and is expected to enter service in the first half of 2027.

Expansion follows earlier AI investment

The inclusion of Orion Telekom was presented by NVIDIA at the GTC conference in Berlin, where the company showcased nine telecom operators in Europe that are developing or enlarging AI infrastructure using its platform. Among the other operators highlighted were Deutsche Telekom and Fastweb + Vodafone Italy.

Orion Telekom previously opened an AI centre in Serbia in February 2026 equipped with NVIDIA chips. The planned upgrade aims to broaden the provider’s capacity to run advanced digital services and to process larger volumes of data inside the country.

Industry observers say the move reflects growing demand in the region for localized AI computing power, driven by needs for low-latency services, data sovereignty and the rapid adoption of generative AI applications.
