Kendrick Nunn flies to Doha and will miss Panathinaikos’ game with AEK

Panathinaikos coach Zeljko Obradovic will be without guard Kendrick Nunn for the club’s EuroLeague meeting with AEK scheduled for November 8, 2026, after the American left Athens to travel to Doha.

Nunn flew to the Qatari capital to pursue a Qatari passport and — according to reports — to “collect” a contract worth between €10 and €30 million that the local basketball authorities are prepared to offer. The player, originally from Chicago, used the short break in Panathinaikos’ schedule to make the trip.

Obradovic had planned to rest Nunn

Obradovic had already intended to give Nunn a rest for the AEK clash, and the coach will therefore be without one of his top scorers in the game coached by Dragan Sakota, whose side is regaining rhythm after returning from injury.

The club expects Nunn back in Athens on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, which would make him available for Panathinaikos’ Round 11 EuroLeague home game against Barcelona.

Only days earlier Nunn starred in Madrid, carrying Panathinaikos to a narrow overtime victory over Real Madrid, 115:112. He finished that game with 33 points and set a EuroLeague mark by scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter.

Panathinaikos must now prepare for AEK without Nunn, while monitoring the player’s return and the next stages of the reported talks in Doha.
