Changeable weather from 9 October 2026: local rain, possible storms and mountain snow
Changeable weather with local showers and possible storms will persist through mid‑next week; mountain snow is possible from Tuesday.

Variable cloudiness with occasional local rain begins today and is expected to persist through the middle of next week, the Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) forecasts for 9 October 2026.
UHMR says the changeable weather is driven by cyclonic activity now and in the coming days. Winds will be weak to moderate and variable in direction, while some areas may see isolated thunderstorms.
Temperatures and local outlook
Morning temperatures are forecast to range between 2 and 10 degrees Celsius. Daytime readings will remain similar to recent days, from about 18°C in Mavrovo to a maximum of 29°C in Gevgelija.
In Skopje skies will be changeable with occasional local showers and a light variable wind. The daytime temperature in the capital is expected to climb to 26°C.
UHMR warns that precipitation will continue until mid‑week and that some places — especially on Sunday — could receive heavier amounts, with accumulations exceeding 20 litres per square metre. Locally, these processes may take the form of severe storms accompanied by intense downpours, gusty winds and thunder.
From Tuesday of next week a colder air mass will move over the country and snowfall is possible on some higher mountains.
