Defense: Gathering in Čair was spontaneous — Grubi not behind organisation
Lawyers say neighbours and supporters gathered on their own after his house arrest ended and insist Grubi did not organise the event.

The legal team for former Vice Prime Minister Artan Grubi has publicly distanced him from a crowd that gathered last night outside his home in the Čair neighbourhood after a court lifted his house arrest.
In a statement, the lawyers said the meeting was organised spontaneously by neighbours, friends and other citizens and that Grubi had no role in planning or directing it. "The gathering was spontaneous, in front of Artan Grubi's home, without speeches, without messages, and without political insignia," the defence said.
The statement noted that the lifting of the house-arrest measure is the result of a decision made by the competent authorities through legally prescribed procedure, and should not be interpreted as a political act.
Addressing those who may have been unsettled by the night-time event, the lawyers offered an apology: "In the name of our client, we apologize to all citizens who may have been disturbed last night by the brief spontaneous event, which could have created a mistaken impression in public."
Defence stresses no political intent
Grubi's lawyers reiterated that the display of support outside his home should not be read as a political message from him. They said there were no organised speeches or campaign material, and asked the public and media not to attribute political meaning to a few minutes of spontaneous presence by local residents.
Video footage circulating online shows Artan Grubi leaving house arrest and being met by people in Čair carrying torches, a scene the defence framed as an impromptu reception rather than a coordinated event.
