PSG–Lyon derby postponed to Monday after Paris protests
French Football Federation moves the Ligue 1 derby from Sunday Oct 25, 2026 to Monday Oct 26 for security reasons.

Paris Saint-Germain's home league derby against Olympique Lyonnais has been postponed for security reasons following the announcement of protests in Paris this weekend.
The match, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026 with a 20:45 kickoff, will be played one day later on Monday, October 26, 2026 after the French Football Federation decided to move the fixture citing safety concerns.
Safety and sporting context
Organisers cited the planned demonstrations across the city on Sunday as the primary reason for the change. Authorities and the federation assessed the risk of large-scale public gatherings clashing with match operations and opted to reschedule.
Sporting significance remains high: the fixture is a traditional derby and carries immediate importance in the table — both Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais enter the round level on points, each with 14.
The federation announced the decision on October 23, 2026. Clubs and supporters will be informed of any further logistical updates from the league. The report was filed by Ognen Dojcinovski.
