On August 22, 2026, North Macedonia international Elif Elmas completed paperwork that will keep him in Italy for the coming season.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder signed a loan agreement today that sends him to Atalanta in Bergamo.
Atalanta reached terms with German side RB Leipzig on a temporary transfer that includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Contract terms
The proposed contract for Elmas runs through 2031 and is structured as an initial one-year loan with an option to extend for an additional four years as part of a full transfer should Atalanta exercise the buy option.
The move keeps the player on the Italian peninsula for another season while leaving the door open for a long-term stay if both clubs and the player agree to the permanent transfer.
