Official: Pochettino to remain U.S. head coach through 2030

United States Soccer Federation has officially confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino will remain the U.S. men’s national team head coach for the next four years.

The announcement, made on 3 August 2026, states that Pochettino’s contract was extended and that the Argentinian will therefore lead the United States at the 2030 World Cup.

Background and context

Pochettino had reportedly been open to other offers and was widely expected to receive interest from his native Argentina or from another major national side, but when no such proposition materialized he chose to continue his work with the U.S. team.
