Man from Ohrid detained after air rifle incident on Touristichka Boulevard
A 47-year-old man was detained after an air rifle was reported pointed at several people following an assault on his minor son.
On 27 August 2026 at 22:15, P.S.(47) from Ohrid was detained on Touristichka Boulevard after a prior report to SVR Ohrid that he pointed an air rifle at several people, including one who was allegedly carrying a pistol, police said. The incident followed a physical attack on the man’s underage son on the same boulevard.
The police confirmed that the apprehension happened at the scene and that investigators have opened steps to clarify all circumstances surrounding the episode. Authorities said an appropriate submission will be filed once the inquiry is completed.
According to the initial report, the group that confronted P.S.'s son physically assaulted the boy, and in response he or his father allegedly aimed an air-powered firearm toward those involved. The report mentions that one of the other persons present was armed with a pistol.

Officers at SVR Ohrid are collecting witness statements and other evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events. The police statement did not specify whether anyone required hospital treatment, nor did it list formal charges at this stage.
