Michael Olise edging toward a €300m transfer — could he eclipse Neymar's record?

The €222 million transfer of Neymar from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 still stands as football's highest-priced move — but talk is growing that a new benchmark could arrive soon, and the figure being mentioned is as high as €300 million.

Central to that debate is France international Michael Olise. The Bayern Munich winger has been in outstanding form and has attracted global attention, prompting the German daily Bild to ask whether he might become the first player in history to be worth roughly €300 million.

High-profile displays and market momentum

Olise himself and observers point to performances at both club and national level as the main drivers of the hype. A clear example came in the match against Belgium, when France trailed 1–0 until coach Zinedine Zidane brought Olise on in the 61st minute; the substitution sparked a revival that ended in a 4–1 victory for Les Tricolores, and supporters finished the game chanting that the winger deserves "the Ballon d'Or".

French sports daily L'Équipe has reported serious interest from Real Madrid, suggesting the Spanish giants could pay between €200 million and €250 million for the signing. Bayern, however, appear determined not to let their prized asset go: Olise is under contract with Bayern until the summer of 2029, and the club's management are already considering an extension to rule out any departure risk.

While the €300 million figure currently sits in expert analysis and media debate, German commentators argue that if Olise continues to torment defences in the Champions League and for France, he could set entirely new financial standards for the transfer market.
